John started playing guitar at age 15, and quickly began to master
the instrument while forming his musical chops in such bands as Sorrows
End and Stoned Groove.
In 1996, John formed The Violent Breed with Dave Watson and began
working on a self-titled album.
After three years of working on a self-titled album, The Violent
Breed received their big shot, an opening for Nevermore on 9/11.
Due to the tragic events of 9/11, the show was cancelled.
While in The Violent Breed he joined Wrathchild, an Iron Maiden
tribute band, featuring two female musicians.
After many successful performances, John wanted to put more time
into The Violent Breed and see if they could achieve the same level
of success.
With John's original project The Violent Breed disbanding in 2002,
John longed to return to the consistency of tribute music, and formed
Hystoria (http://www.hystoria.com), a Def Leppard tribute band.
While settling on a permanent lineup for Hystoria, John continued
to keep his options open for interesting side projects.
Displaying his musical versatility, John joined Prophecy in 2003,
on keyboards.
With the bass guitar position opening up soon after, John eagerly
switched from keyboards to bass, and immediately mastered Eddie
Jackson's technique and style
With the departure of Nick, John moved to guitar and since he handles all the DeGarmo vocal lines, Prophecy is more authentic than ever. John is up to the challenge of completing the tandem guitar approach of Queensryche.
John has many musical influences, ranging from Adrian Smith to
John Petrucci to Kai Hansen and many more.
